Scanimations

Before making the final decision on making a scroll, I did explore a new technique 'scanimation' which is a moving serious of image put together like an animation but instead of shown on the screen it would be shown in a book and when you open the book back and forth the image will move with you opening the book. The technique is also known as a optical illusion, my initial thought was to add it in my story book for one particular scene which was when the human figures in the story dance around calling Nu Wa 'mama' However due to the final decision being a scroll, this technique was not for the end product.
I had a go at making my own scanimation bar which was every 6pt stroke had 1pt stroke after the 6pt stroke. The first try was not successful but it not stop myself to keep trying.
These are the bars which did not work.
The image below are the second try I did and this time was successful. I then made the scanimations work. Below is the working scanimation. Even though this was not used for the end product, I will pursue the technique again in future.
